Caramel Nuts - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. sugar
3/4 c. half and half cream
pinch of salt
pecans
Preparation

Caramelize 1 cup sugar
in
a
small
heavy pan.
While cooking, mix 3 cups sugar, cream
and
salt
in
a larger pan; when mixture comes to a boil, add caramelized sugar to mixture and cook until it comes to
a
soft
ball
(when
dropped
in water). Cool and beat; when it
holds,
dip end of nut in and drop on waxed paper.
If it gets too hard, add a little cream. You can also use this for cake icing.
