Violet'S Potato Donuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. mashed potatoes
    3 eggs
    3/4 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. soft shortening (butter is best)
    2 3/4 c. sifted Gold Medal flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. mace (optional)
    1 c. mashed potatoes
Preparation
    Mash potatoes well.
    Beat in eggs, sugar and soft shortening. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and mace.
    Add mashed potatoes.
    Chill dough for 2 hours.
