Western Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    3 1/2 c. canned tomatoes
    1 c. chopped green peppers
    1/2 c. chopped onions
    1/2 c. uncooked rice
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. basil
    dash of black pepper
    1/2 lb. Velveeta, sliced
Preparation
    Brown ground beef and onions; drain off fat.
    Add the remaining ingredients, cover and simmer 25 minutes stirring occasionally. Top with Velveeta; heat until melted.
