Easy Fruit Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. soft butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
    1 medium size can Sante Fe peaches, sour cherries or boysenberries, drained (reserve juice)
Preparation
    Mix reserved juice with enough water to make 1 cup.
    Cream the butter and 1/2 cup of sugar until light and fluffy.
    Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt and add to creamed mixture alternately with milk.
    Beat until smooth.
    Pour into greased 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    Spoon drained fruit over batter.
    Sprinkle with 1/2 cup of sugar, then juice.
    Bake 45 to 50 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
    Serve with cream.
    Makes about 6 servings.
