Freezer Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. cucumbers, peeled and sliced thin
    1 c. onion, sliced thin
    2 Tbsp. non-iodized salt
    2 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. dill seed (depending on taste)
Preparation
    Put cucumber and onion in a large bowl.
    Sprinkle with salt and mix.
    Let stand 2 hours or more.
    Drain.
    DO NOT RINSE.
    Heat vinegar and sugar until sugar is dissolved.
    Drop onion and dill seed in hot vinegar.
    Reheat to just before boiling.
    DO NOT BOIL. Put in containers to cool and freeze.
