Chinese Chews - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 pkg. (8 oz.) pitted dates, chopped
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. grated lemon peel
Preparation
    Sift flour with baking powder and salt.
    In medium bowl with rotary beater
    or
    electric
    mixer,
    beat
    eggs and sugar until light and thick.
    Stir in flour mixture, dates, nuts and lemon peel.
    Pour into a\tgreased

    9 x 1 3/4 inch baking pan. Bake at 325\u00b0
    for 30 minutes until lightly brown and top is firm. Cut into bars.
    Makes 2 dozen.
