Southern Chocolate Pecan Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 unbaked pie shell
    3 eggs (small or medium)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 sq. (2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate
    1/3 c. butter or margarine
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 c. dark Karo syrup
    1 or 1 1/2 c. pecan halves
Preparation
    Melt butter and chocolate in double boiler; add sugar and salt and stir.
    Add 3 beaten eggs, syrup and vanilla. Mix in pecans. Pour into pie shell; bake at 350\u00b0 for 55 minutes or until set and browned.
