Candied Sweet Potatoes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 medium sized sweet potatoes
1/4 c. dark brown sugar
1/4 c. sorghum molasses
1/3 c. butter
2 very thin slices orange
1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Peel potatoes and slice lengthwise.
Melt half the butter in a heavy saucepan on medium heat.
Coat each piece of potato with melted butter.
Turn each piece several times, cooking slowly on top of stove.
When potato begins to tender, add brown sugar and molasses, mixing thoroughly with potato slices.
Add water, salt and nutmeg.
Cook about 5 more minutes.
Transfer potatoes to a casserole dish, putting orange slices between the two layers of potatoes.
Cover with syrup; dot with rest of butter.
Place in oven at 350\u00b0 and bake 20 minutes and cover.
