Doughnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. melted shortening
    2 eggs
    4 c. flour
    4 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Beat eggs until light.
    Add sugar, beating well.
    Blend in shortening.
    Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and sugar mixture.
    Roll 1/4-inch thick on floured board.
    Cut with doughnut cutter and fry a few at a time in 4-inches hot (360\u00b0) oil or shortening, turning once.
    Drain on paper towel.
    Dip in sugar or frosting.
    Makes 24.
