English Trifle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cake mix
    1 large can fruit cocktail
    1 box strawberry jello
    1 box instant vanilla pudding
    Dream Whip or fresh whipping cream
    walnuts (optional)
Preparation
    Bake
    cake
    according
    to
    directions.
    Let cool.
    Tear cake into
    small pieces and sprinkle of bottom of 10-inch pan or casserole
    dish.
    Drain fruit cocktail (save juice to make jello) and
    sprinkle
    on
    top of cake.
    Add nuts.
    Make jello according to directions, using juice from fruit cocktail along with
    cold water.
    Sherry
    may be added to jello according to taste.
    Pour jello
    over
    cake
    and fruit cocktail.
    Let set, preferably overnight.
    Make
    instant
    pudding and spread over set jello. Make Dream Whip and spread over pudding.
