Boiled Raisin Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 box sticky raisins
2 c. sugar
2 c. cold water
1 c. lard (not Crisco)
1 tsp. salt
3 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. soda, dissolved in a little hot water

Preparation

Boil raisins, sugar, cold water, lard and salt for 5 minutes after mixing.
Let stand until cool.
Add remaining ingredients. Mix together and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until done.
