Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
2 c. water
1 c. raisins
2 Tbsp. Crisco
2 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 Tbsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1/4 c. hot water
Preparation

Boil together for 15 minutes sugar, water, raisins and Crisco.
When cool, add flour sifted with cinnamon, cloves and allspice.
Add baking soda to mixture.
Bake slowly in low oven (275\u00b0) 3 to 3 1/2 hours or until done.
To make a richer cake add candied citron, orange, lemon, pineapple and candied cherries.
