Butterscotch Chocolate Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 1/4 c. brown sugar
    3 eggs
    2 3/4 c. flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 pkg. chocolate bits
    1 c. broken nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Melt shortening.
    Add sugar; cool.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
    Add other ingredients; blend well.
    Pour into greased 11 x 15 x 3/4-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cut into squares when almost cool.
