Johnny Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sour or buttermilk
1 egg
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. flour
2 c. corn meal

Preparation

Stir sugar, egg and lard well.
Add milk.
Stir in dry ingredients.
Bake at 350\u00b0.
