Quick Sloppy Joes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1 medium onion
    1 green pepper
    2 to 3 tsp. chili powder
    2 tsp. sugar
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed tomato soup
    salt and pepper
    4 sandwich buns (such as hamburger buns, onion rolls, English muffins)
    butter or margarine
Preparation
    Cook beef in an 8 to 10-inch frying pan on medium-high heat for 5 minutes or until meat begins to brown.
    Break meat into fine crumbs as it cooks.
    While beef cooks, chop onion and green pepper. Add onion and pepper to beef along with chili powder.
    Cook, stirring, for about 15 minutes or until onion is translucent.
    Stir in sugar and soup.
    Cook for 3 to 4 minutes more, until hot and bubbly.
    Add salt and pepper to taste; keep hot.
    Split sandwich buns crosswise.
    Lightly butter cut sides.
    Toast in a broiler or toaster oven.
    Spoon hot Sloppy Joes mixture over toasted buns. Serve hot.
