Home Baked Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. navy beans
    1/4 lb. pork, sliced
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. granulated or brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. dry mustard
    2 Tbsp. molasses
    1 small onion, quartered
Preparation
    Wash beans; cover with water and soak overnight.
    Cook slowly until skins burst or until tender.
    Drain; reserve liquid.
    Place 1/2 the beans in bean pot or casserole.
    Bury part of pork in beans and add 1/2 of combined remaining ingredients.
    Add remaining beans and seasoning.
    Place remaining pork over top.
    Cover with bean liquor.
    Cover and bake in slow oven (250\u00b0 to 300\u00b0) for 6 to 8 hours.
    Add more liquid if necessary.
    Serves 6 to 8.
