Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 c. raisins or dates
1/2 c. nuts
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Pour water over oatmeal.
Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs.
Mix in other ingredients.
Bake at 350\u00b0
for 45 minutes.
