King Cake(A Mardi Gras Tradition) - cooking recipe

1 c. milk (room temperature)
2 pkg. active dry yeast
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
4 c. flour
cinnamon sugar
purple, green and yellow colored sugar
1 tsp. flavoring, lemon, orange or vanilla
1 tsp. salt
2 large eggs, beaten
oil
12 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation

Put milk in small bowl and add the flavoring. Dissolve the yeast in the milk and set aside for a few minutes until foamy.
