Beef Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. stew beef (lean)
1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. oil
1 c. hot water
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 bay leaf
1/8 tsp. thyme
6 carrots, peeled
6 onions, peeled
6 potatoes, peeled
1 c. sliced celery
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Combine flour and salt; roll meat in mixture.
Put oil in pot; heat.
Add stew meat and brown slowly.
Add water, tomato sauce and seasonings.
Cover tightly and simmer for 1 1/4 hours.
Cut vegetables in quarters.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Add vegetables and celery to the stew; cover and simmer an additional hour.
