Crystal Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 c. corn syrup
    5 drops red food coloring
    3/4 tsp. oil of cinnamon (may be purchased at drug store)
Preparation
    Combine sugar, water and syrup in a large Dutch oven.
    Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
    Stir in food coloring.
    Continue to cook, without stirring, until mixture reaches hard crack stage or 300\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
    Remove from heat and stir in oil of cinnamon.
    Working rapidly, spread mixture onto oiled 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.
    Let cool. Break into pieces.
    Yields 4 dozen pieces.
