Scratch Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/3 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3 eggs
    3 c. flour
    1 c. milk
    4 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add unbeaten eggs and vanilla; beat thoroughly.
    Sift flour and baking powder, add mixture alternately with milk to sugar mixture.
    Pour into well-greased pan (13 x 9 x 2-inch) or layered pan.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
