Black Forest Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. devils food cake mix
    1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
    3 c. Cool Whip
Preparation
    Prepare two 9-inch cake layers as directed on package.
    Bake and cool.
    Spoon 1 cup whipped topping around outside edge of bottom layer.
    Fill center of 1st layer with one-half of pie filling.
    Place second layer on top.
    Spoon 1 1/2 cups whipped topping around top edge and spoon remaining pie filling into center top of cake.
    Chill and serve.
    Keep leftover cake refrigerated.
