Pear Tart - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ripe pears, cut into pieces
    juice of 1 lemon
    1/2 c. plus 1/4 c. butter
    3/4 c. plus 1/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    1/2 c. slivered almonds
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease a 9-inch spring pan.
    Toss pears with lemon juice.
    Cream 1/2 cup butter with 3/4 cup sugar.
    Add beaten eggs, one at a time.
    Sift flour and baking powder.
    Add to mixture.
    Add almond extract.
    Stir batter.
    It will be thick. Spread batter in pan.
    Top with pear mixture.
    Top with 1/4 cup each butter and sugar.
    Top with slivered almonds.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 1 hour.
