Stuffed Date Drops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. (about 70) pitted dates
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. pecan or walnut halves
    1/4 c. shortening
    3/4 c. medium brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/4 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sour cream
Preparation
    Stuff dates with nut halves.
    Cream shortening and sugar until light; beat in egg.
    Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with sour cream to creamed mixture.
    Stir in dates.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
