Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. allspice
    5 c. diced apples
    1/2 c. walnuts
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs.
    Beat.
    Add dry ingredients and mix thoroughly (batter will be heavy).
    Stir in apples, then nuts.
    Bake in a greased 13 x 9-inch pan for 1 hour at 325\u00b0.
    Serve hot or cold.
    Great with whipped cream.
