Kentucky Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

pastry dough for 9-inch pie shell
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
dash of salt
1/2 c. butter, melted
2 eggs, beaten
2 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. walnut pieces
1 c. chopped quality chocolate (do not use commercial chips)
whipped cream (for garnish)
Preparation

d surface to 1/8-inch thickness.
Fit into 9-inch pie plate; trim and flute edge.
Pierce bottom with fork.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes, or until bottom is cooked through but not brown.
Cool. Mix flour, sugar and salt.
Put butter and eggs into large bowl; stir in dry ingredients.
Stir in vanilla.
Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips; pour into cooled pie shell.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes, until top is golden.
Cool slightly on rack.
Serve warm, cut in wedges topped with Cool Whip.
