Piragi(Aka: Latvian Ham Crescents) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. yeast
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. warm water
3/4 c. milk
10 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. salt
4 Tbsp. sugar
3 eggs
3 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water.
Warm milk, butter and salt together and add to the yeast mixture.
Add sugar, eggs and flour.
Knead until soft and elastic.
Let rise once (30 to 45 minutes).
Flatten dough and divide into walnut-sized pieces. Shape each piece into a flat rectangle.
Place a heaping teaspoon of filling in the middle; fold over.
Pinch edges together, forming a crescent.
Place each piece, seam side down, on a greased cookie sheet.
Let rise for about 15 minutes.
Brush with raw whipped egg and bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes, until light golden brown.
