Punch Bowl Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    pound cake, angel food or yellow cake mix (your choice)
    1 medium bag coconut
    2 medium containers Cool Whip
    1 can cherry pie filling
    1 (16 oz.) can pineapple, drained
    1 (16 oz.) can fruit cocktail
    2 small boxes vanilla instant pudding, prepared
    maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Crumble half of cake into bottom of punch bowl.
    Start alternating ingredients:
    1/2 cake, pudding, pie filling, fruit cocktail, pineapple, Cool Whip and coconut; repeat.
    Crumble other half of cake on top.
    Put layer of Cool Whip, coconut, nuts and cherries.
