Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. sliced cucumbers
    1 qt. sliced onions
    1/2 c. salt
    1 gal. water
    4 c. sugar
    2 c. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    2 Tbsp. celery seed
    1/2 tsp. whole pepper
    1 tsp. turmeric
    1 Tbsp. ground ginger
Preparation
    Soak cucumbers and onions in brine of salt and water overnight.
    Drain and add remaining ingredients.
    Bring to rolling boil.
    Boil 10 minutes.
    Pack in jars.
    Seal and process 30 minutes.
