Flaky Pastry - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    1 3/4 c. shortening (not oil)
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 egg
Preparation
    With fork, mix first 4 ingredients.
    In small bowl, beat 1/2 cup water and remaining ingredients together.
    Add to first mixture and blend with fork until dry ingredients are moistened. With hands, mold dough into balls and chill at least 15 minutes. Dough can be stored in refrigerator up to 3 days or frozen until ready to use.
    Makes 2 double crusts for 9-inch pies and one 9-inch shell.
