Ingredients

1 c. all-purpose flour
2/3 c. granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
dash of ground cloves
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped pecans
2 c. pears, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch pieces (about 4 medium)
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. butter or margarine
3/4 c. boiling water
ice cream or whipped cream
Preparation

In large bowl, stir together first six ingredients.
Add milk, beating until smooth.
Stir in pears and pecans.
Turn into ungreased, 2-quart casserole.
