Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick butter or magarine
    1/2 c. Crisco
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    1 tsp. soda
    2 c. plain flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. coconut
    5 egg whites, beaten stiff
Preparation
    Cream butter, Crisco and sugar.
    Add egg yolks.
    Sift flour and add soda; add to mixture with buttermilk.
    Flour first and last. Stir in nuts and coconut.
    Fold in beaten egg whites.
    Bake in 3 (9-inch) cake pans.
    Makes 3 layers.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes or until done.
