New Orleans Style Jambalaya - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 lb. raw shrimp
    1 1/2 c. diced ham
    1/2 c. chopped onions
    1/4 c. chopped celery
    2 c. tomatoes or 1 can tomato paste
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. green pepper
    1 c. raw rice
    2 bay leaves
    4 cloves garlic
    salt and cayenne to taste
Preparation
    Saute onions, green pepper, celery and garlic in melted butter.
    Add shrimp and ham; fry for 5 minutes on medium heat. Stir in tomatoes and cook an additional 10 minutes.
    Stir in rice and add seasoning.
    Add 1 cup water and bring to boil.
    Cover and simmer until rice is done, about 30 minutes.
