Mee-Maw After Church Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. lean beef cubes or venison
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. dried sweet basil
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    1 onion, sliced
    3 potatoes, cubed
    2 ribs celery, sliced
    4 carrots, sliced
    1 can tomato soup
    1/2 can of water
Preparation
    Place meat in 3-quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and basil. Top with celery, carrots, potatoes and onions. Combine soup with water. Pour over meat and vegetables. Cover and bake in slow 300\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 oven for 3 1/2 hours.
