Pepper Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. top beef round steak (3/4 to 1-inch thick)
    1/4 c. salad oil
    1 c. water
    1 medium onion
    1/2 tsp. garlic salt
    1/4 tsp. ginger
    2 medium green peppers
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 tsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    2 medium tomatoes
Preparation
    Trim fat from meat; cut into 2 x 1-inch pieces.
    Saute in salad oil until brown and tender, about 5 minutes.
    Stir in water, onion (sliced and separated), garlic salt and ginger.
    Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
    Add green pepper strips during last 5 minutes.
    Blend cornstarch, sugar and soy sauce; add to meat and cook until thickened.
    Add tomato quarters and cook, covered, for 3 minutes.
    Serve with rice or egg noodles.
    Makes 6 servings.
