Pecan Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/8 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
    2 1/2 c. pecan halves
Preparation
    Combine sugar, baking soda, buttermilk and salt in a heavy 4-quart saucepan.
    Cook over medium heat to 210\u00b0 (about 5 minutes), stirring constantly.
    Add butter, syrup and pecans. Continue stirring until candy reaches 234\u00b0 (soft ball stage), about 5 minutes more, stirring constantly.
