Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. Karo (white)
Preparation
    Bring to a bubbling boil.
    Remove from fire and add 1 teaspoon soda.
    Stir until it quits bubbling.
    Return to fire and cook to firm ball stage.
    Add lots of pecans, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 2 tablespoons butter (I use Parkay).
    Beat until it loses its gloss and drop on wax paper.
