Classic Rice Pilaf(Serves 4) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 clove garlic, minced or pressed
    1 can mushrooms
    2 c. chicken or beef broth
    1 medium size onion, chopped
    1 c. rice
    1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
    salt
Preparation
    In a wide frying pan over medium heat, melt butter.
    Add onion and garlic; cook until onion is soft.
    Stir in rice and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until rice is lightly browned. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.
    Cover, reduce heat, and simmer until rice is tender (about 25 minutes).
    Stir once or twice and season to taste with salt.
    Toss gently with cheese.
