Apple Betty Pie - cooking recipe

4 c. sliced tart apples
1/2 c. orange juice
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
dash of salt
1/2 c. butter or margarine
Preparation

Mound apples in buttered 9-inch pie plate. Sprinkle with orange juice. For topping, combine sugar, flour, spices and salt. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly, then scatter over apples. Bake in moderate oven at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until apples are done and topping is crisp and lightly browned.
Serve warm with pitcher of light cream or scoops of vanilla ice cream.
