Chop Suey - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. margarine or butter
    1 lb. cubed pork steak
    1 large onion, sliced
    2 oz. soy sauce
    2 (4 oz.) cans mushrooms
    1 can chow mein noodles or 2 c. cooked rice
    1 lb. cubed veal steak
    1 1/2 c. celery, cut up
    water
    1 tsp. brown sugar
    1 can bean sprouts
Preparation
    Brown meat in butter.
    Add celery and onion to browned meat. Cover with water and cook slowly, uncovered, for 1 hour or until tender.
    Add soy sauce, brown sugar and mushrooms.
    Add bean sprouts and liquid.
    Thicken gravy to desired consistency.
    Serve over chow mein noodles or cooked rice or both.
    Serves 8.
