Cheese Strata - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 slices white bread
    4 oz. diced ham
    3 c. milk
    8 Tbsp. butter, melted
    2 to 4 Tbsp. finely chopped onion
    8 oz. sliced cheese (cheddar)
    6 eggs
    salt to taste
    1 tsp. prepared mustard
Preparation
    Oil a 13 x 9 inch casserole or baking dish.
    Using a biscuit cutter, cut circles out of the bread slices.
    Set the circles aside for the top of the casserole and fit the scraps of bread into the prepared dish.
    Cover the bread scraps with cheese slices, and sprinkle with ham. Arrange the bread circles on top. Beat the eggs in a mixing bowl.
    Whisk in the milk, salt, butter, mustard and onion.
    Pour over the casserole, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
