Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers, sliced
    1 c. pickling lime to 1 gal. water
    5 lb. sugar
    1/2 gal. vinegar
    green food coloring (optional)
    2 Tbsp. pickling spice (tie in cloth)
Preparation
    Soak cucumbers and pickling lime for 24 hours.
    Rinse in cold running water.
    Mix sugar, vinegar, food coloring and pickling spice.
    Bring to a boil.
    Add cucumbers.
    Boil for 30 minutes. Take up and put in hot jars with lids.
