Glazed Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers, sliced thin
    2 gal. water
    2 c. lime
    ice
    7 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. salt
    6 c. vinegar
    1/4 pkg. pickling spices
    ginger to taste
Preparation
    Soak cucumbers in water and lime overnight.
    Rinse well.
    Then soak in cold water for 2 hours, then rinse and put in ice for 1 hour.
    Make your syrup with sugar, salt, vinegar, pickling spice and add ginger right before the cucumbers.
    When syrup is boiling, add cucumbers and boil for 20 minutes, then simmer for 1 hour. Put in sterilized jars and seal.
