Mexicana Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 lb. sausage meat
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 garlic clove, mashed
    1/2 c. celery, diced
    1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
    1/2 c. raw rice
    1/4 tsp. cumin powder
    1 Tbsp. chili powder*
    1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed tomato soup
    1 1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. dried currants (may substitute yellow raisins)
    chopped peanuts for topping
