Baked Pork Chops And Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 pork chops
    salt and pepper
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1/2 c. each: chopped onion, celery and green pepper
    1 c. uncooked rice
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    2 c. boiling chicken or beef broth
Preparation
    Brown chops on each side, sprinkling with salt and pepper in oil.
    Remove from skillet and drain.
    Add celery, onion and pepper.
    Add rice to skillet.
    Cook until vegetables are tender and rice is golden.
    Stir in thyme and broth.
    Place chops on top of rice.
    Cover and bake 30 minutes, until tender and liquid is absorbed.
