Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    lettuce
    cauliflower, cut in small pieces
    purple onion, chopped
    green pepper, chopped
    lettuce
    celery, chopped
    broccoli, cut in small pieces
    black pepper
    1 lb. bacon, fried crisp
    frozen green peas
    Louisiana Red Hot
    Cheddar cheese, grated
    2 c. mayonnaise
Preparation
    Layer all ingredients beginning and ending with lettuce.
    I usually put 2 layers of all vegetables.
    Mix mayonnaise, black pepper and Red Hot to taste.
    Should be spicy.
    Spread over top of vegetables.
    Cover completely with no lettuce showing.
    Top with cheese.
    Sprinkle with crumbled bacon.
    Cover tightly with plastic wrap.
    Refrigerate 6 hours or more before serving.
    This takes a while to make and I find it's really easy to make several at one time, keep one and take the others as treats for friends.
