Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. white sugar
1/4 c. water
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
3 c. quick cook oats
Preparation

Cream together shortening and brown and white sugar.
Add 1 well beaten egg; add water and vanilla.
Mix well.
Sift together flour, salt and baking soda; add to cream mixture.
Then add oats and mix well.
Shape into small balls (walnut-sized).
Then dip a glass into a small amount of sugar and mash each ball.
(May need to moisten the bottom of glass first.)
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
