Cake Surprise - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 (No. 303) can fruit cocktail
1/2 can cherry pie filling
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. chocolate chips
powdered sugar

Preparation

Sift dry ingredients into a mixing bowl.
Add brown sugar, shortening, eggs, fruit cocktail (with juice) and cherry pie filling.
Mix and pour into 9 x 13-inch pan.
Sprinkle walnuts and chocolate chips on top of batter.
Bake for 40 minutes at 350\u00b0. After baking, sprinkle with desired amount of powdered sugar.
