Strawberry Shortcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    2 Tbsp. sugar (I use 5)
    1/3 c. vegetable shortening (I use oil)
    1/2 c. milk
    1 lightly beaten egg
    sweetened strawberries, cut
    whipped cream, milk or both
Preparation
    Mix first 5 ingredients well; add milk and egg.
    Place in 8 x 8-inch or 9 x 9-inch pan or deep pie plate.
    Bake 25 minutes at 350\u00b0 or until lightly browned.
    Cut and top with sweetened strawberries.
    Add whipped cream, milk or both.
