Pineapple Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    5 to 7 slices pineapple
    1 pkg. white or yellow cake mix for one layer or 1/2 regular size pkg.
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    maraschino cherries (optional)
Preparation
    Melt butter, brown sugar and 2 tablespoons pineapple syrup in a 10-inch round cake pan.
    Remove from heat.
    Arrange pineapple and cherries in mixture.
    Prepare batter as directed on cake package.
    Pour over mixture in the pan.
    Bake in a preheated oven at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 50 minutes.
    Let stand 5 minutes.
    Invert onto serving plate.
    Allow 2 to 3 minutes before removing pan.
    Serve warm with whipped cream.
